Choosing the Right Blinds For Your Home

Venetian Blinds

Venetian blinds are great at providing privacy and blocking out light. They usually consist of horizontal flats and come in either vinyl, plastic or wood. They can be pulled up with a chord or chain and can limit the amount of light that comes in.

Vertical Blinds

Vertical blinds work in the same way as Venetian, but the slats are vertical, they are operated by a chord or chain and they can limit the amount of light that comes into a room. They are both smart and elegant and come in a range of colours.

Roller Blinds

Roller blinds usually cover the window with a piece of fabric that can be pulled all the way down the window, halfway and pulled up so plenty of light can come in. They are fitted onto a roller that comes up or down. They are operated by a chord or chain and they come in a variety of colours and fabrics.

Roman Blinds

A roman blind rolls up into pleats when you pull on a string or chord. Again, they quite good at blocking out light because they’re fitted exactly to the inside of the window. They’re strong and hardwearing and you can have blackout and thermal fabric fitted, so the room is warm and you can shut out light.

Intu Blinds

Intu blinds are quite popular because they fit on to the window with no need for holes or drilling. They can be fitted by anyone so you don’t need to get someone to do it for you if you prefer to do it yourself. There are no chords or chains with Intu blinds, so they’re a perfect choice for families.

Wooden Blinds

Wooden blinds can look extremely elegant and come in a variety of different woods, you can have them as either vertical or Venetian and in a variety of different colours.

Blackout Blinds

Blackout blinds cut out light effectively, so if you have a media room and you want to use a projector then the blackout material will cut out the light and make it easier to see a film.
